Dear All ManUtdSG Members,

Following numerous negative feedback/complaints from members, we regret to inform that, after much consideration we have decided to impose the ban hammer on one of our members, joro.

Now for the reasons:

Multiple feedbacks for being a poor seller.

Sales of items via Private Messages which is not allowed.

Proceeding to add items over the $100 limit without approval causing confusion and misleading of members.

Failure to come clean about wrong badges / NNs during Sale of kits to members leading to deception for own profits.

Please also take note that the user will be awarded a PERMANENT ban from the ManUtdSG Forum.

We would like to stress on the importance of adhering to the various Rules and Regulations to prevent such future incidents from happening again. All of us here can be considered Brothers and Sisters as we are all fans of the great Manchester United. Once again, the Committee deeply express its regret for the ban imposed.

Lastly, ManUtdSG hopes that her members will continue to support and enjoy the time spent here with the rest of the Big Family.

Thanks & Best Regards,
This is to regrettably inform members of the ManUtdsg forum that with effect from 14 July 2009, forum user, iswandi7, has been imposed with a 3-month ban which will refrain him from activities within http://www.manutdsg.com.

Please note that the imposed ban will NOT be permanent and any withdrawal or extension of ban is subject to an assessment and review by the Committee of ManUtdsg.

United's new home kit for the 2009/10 campaign will be officially unveiled next week, but it is now available to pre-order online.

The red kit celebrates 100 years of Old Trafford and part of the design will reflect that what was worn by the Reds a century ago.

The players will don the kit for the first time during their pre-season tour of Asia next month. The squad fly out to the Far East on 16 July - the day the kit goes on sale and on which pre-orders will be delivered.

Rio Ferdinand says the players are always excited to see the new kit and insists the historical aspect acts as an inspiration to everyone.

"Maintaining the traditions of the club is very important," he told ManUtd.com.

"Last season we had the blue kit to remember the European Cup winners of 1968 and this one dates back to the 1900s to celebrate 100 years of Old Trafford.

"This club has always taken pride in its history - it acts as an inspiration to all of us and it’s great to see it represented in the new kit."

Dear all,

We have been in talks with the Cafe bar for the past few weeks to have access to the BPL trophy when it is in town.

Some important information are as follows:

Throphy will be displayed outside where the tent is

Cafe bar is open to give us access to trophy during their “partner hour” During this partner hour, regular customers can still come in but photography priority is given to us. If the group is too big, they can arrange another timeslot for us.

Mon night will be the big “rah rah” event with champagne etc – but that is open to all. (as in Public)

There are not barriers of entry to this photo-taking.

They will have a special Champions Burger Menu and Cocktail.

Do Put your names down if ur keen on joining the club to check out the BPL trophy. We will revert on which day we will go down. (most likely after work)

Hi guys,

We would like to help pass the word along to call for volunteers to support two promotional events/guerilla stunts that an event company is tying up with StarHub for the United-Liverpool game build up. (Joe Morrison has mentioned this on TV as well)

Here are their two pre-game events they need 25 supporters (or more) for each day:

MARCH 7
This coming Saturday (7th Mar) at 1.30pm at the Singapore Flyer. From there you would board up the United opentop bus (one decked out in United colours, one in Liverpool) to tour around town. Please feel free to bring you club flags or scarves or any collaterals.
• Forum to esplanade, couple of rounds, the two buses start from opposing routes). The activity will take about 2-3 hours.

MARCH 14
In addition, for next Sat (14th Mar) it would be the same time as well at the same venue, however the event would be from 2-8pm. Following that, the bus would drop off at Clarke Quay for the fans to watch the match. You will be entitled to 1 reserve seat + 1 beer each for the fans at Clarke Quay.

Please contact Leon Lai (not the HK singer!) at 9723 4555, as this is not a ManUtdSG-organized event. We are just helping them out of courtesy. Our gathering venue is still Marquee!!

Marquee and Man United Cafe

Dear Friends & Members of Manchester United Supporters' Club,

As many of you have had questions about the ongoing discussion and future base for enjoying matches together, we want to take this opportunity to outline recent updates to keep you posted and dispel any confusion.

A month or two ago, Manchester United Cafe Bar opened with much anticipation for many Manchester United fans in Singapore. While we were aware of their plans to operate and maintain a friendly relationship with its management, no official agreement is in place for us to "move" out of our current arrangement with Marquee, who has kindly hosted us since the beginning of the season. MU Cafe Bar is a fine establishment and we wish them every success, but we can only call it our "Natural Home" when the arragement are in place, when time is right for changes.

While Marquee has had its occasional service chalennges, we agreed to base ourselves on games day in their outlet for the season, and this won't change until further decision and announcements. Although our fixture schedule has made watching late night kickoffs a challenge, this does not mean we won't go to Marquee on match days when there are earlier kickoff times. For those of you active on the forum, you will also know we post gathering detail on our Gathering Thread.

There have also been media articles about the new F&B outlet, with many of our supporters interviewed and expressing their enthusiasm and support for the new place as an officially licensed MU F&B organization. However, this is not representative of the committee or the Supporters' Club's position to move. We understand you may have preferences based on location, pricing or other personal reasons for choosing where you watch your matches, but we feel obligated to let everyone know that there are no current plans for us to completely "move" to MU Cafe Bar on match days.

Choosing a seemingly perfect "home base" for our supporters' club gatherings is no easy task. We scout every possible pub with every good intention of making it a perfect home for us. Our decisions are usually made based on a few key criterias, which is comfort (especially for big fixtures), food quality, pricing, and most importantly convenience of location. So we hope we have not let you down by doing our best to find the best home for our game days.

We hope to see you at future gatherings, and we'd also love to hear your thoughts on your dream venue... please feel free to contact us!

With best regards,

Dear Forum Members and Friends of the Supporters’ Club,

In the past few months, it has come to our attention that one of our forum members who is also a former committee member (username mervcustom) has developed unhappiness with the structure of the forum, supporters’ club and our activities. As a result of this displeasure, we have received feedback that much has been said and criticized about our club and the committee members. While we did not wish to post this information and cause further discord, it has come to a point when it’s necessary to share this information with you. This concerns the integrity of our forum and our committee members, who have put in numerous hours of their personal time to help organize activities for like-minded United fans in Singapore.

Some of the common criticisms/feedback we have received:

• The Committee members are clique-ish
a. The committee is made up of people who are staunch United fans, who also bring respective professional qualities and passion to the team (for example, Louis, our administrator is a IT consultant who put in endless hours of his personal time and expertise to run this forum, which was also started by him. Shawal and Evelyn are running the media activities, and they themselves are both PR professionals, etc.).
b. The committee spends on an average of 10-15 hours of their personal time each month, moderating the forum, planning and organizing activities for the club, sorting through logistical arrangements with pub owners for creating a comfortable environment for match days, etc, etc. I think “clique-ish” is a wrongful characterization, we have developed strong friendships through the hours spent on managing the club activities and its issues, and would rightfully have more contact opportunities. However, many of us also have great relationships with other members of the club who have watched the games with us at Marquee and Crab Shack.
c. It would be very short-sighted of us to be “clique-ish” if our goal is to unite United supporters, this working style just does not make sense, and has never been a mode of operation.

• Unkind things have been said about mervcustom on forum threads
a. As active forum members, some of you know it takes very little to inflame a fellow forum member sometimes, as it is an impersonal way of communications. Some words are taken out of context and misinterpreted….sometimes even amongst close friends and family members!
b. If there were any inflammatory incidents or seemingly harmful words used, we believe those have been discussed and settled between the parties involved.
c. The forum will not tolerate disrespectful language used on another forum member, and will issue notes of caution to forum members who may had let their emotions get the better of them
d. If you are experiencing issues with any forum member in particular please approach your moderators or speak to any one of us on the committee. Another advice is to get some distance for a day or two to get a perspective away from the forum (we have also advised mervcustom of this approach when he spoke to the committee, although we are not sure that advice was taken).

Following a committee discussion with mervcustom, he will no longer participate in this forum and our supporters’ club activities. A consensus has been reached that he will no longer identify with and participate in our activities due to a severe difference of opinion on how things are carried out. This was a difficult decision but is one that has been mulled over for a long time, with numerous hours of discussion and attempts at resolution.

As mentioned in the beginning, we feel compelled to bring this to light because of the negativity this episode has injected the forum and club, and the lack of fairness in how information might have been presented to some of you. As a club formed by the fans, for the fans, the goal of this supporters’ club is to ensure the United fans’ voices are heard. We don’t want to start behaving like Rafa and Fergie, and we should be able to voice our opinion on the good or bad experiences without malice, gossips, and wrongful information passed on from member to member to destroy the foundation of this organization.

Our team has picked up their form in the New Year and we should do the same! Happy Holidays, and we look forward to seeing everyone soon. Please feel free to approach us with questions or comments.

Sincerely,
Committee, Season 08/09
